Optimizing Women's Health: The Role of Natural Prenatal and Postnatal Supplements

A pregnant woman in her late twenties or early thirties enjoys a peaceful walk in a lush garden. She is dressed in comfortable attire, smiling gently as she walks along a path surrounded by vibrant greenery and colorful flowers, embodying health and tranquility.

Maintaining optimal health and wellness is more important than ever in today's fast-paced world. While a balanced diet and regular exercise lay the foundation for a healthy lifestyle, supplementation can play a crucial role in filling nutritional gaps and supporting overall well-being.

As a mother who gave birth almost a year ago, I can attest to the effectiveness and trustworthiness of Thorne supplements. During pregnancy, the nutritional needs of both mother and baby escalate, making supplementation a vital part of prenatal care. Equally important is postnatal care, which is crucial for maintaining health and well-being during the postpartum period. A woman’s body undergoes numerous significant changes as it adapts to pregnancy and the demands of motherhood post-pregnancy.

One of the unique features of Thorne supplements is their unwavering commitment to quality and purity. Unlike many other products on the market that are filled with additives, allergens, or fillers, Thorne’s supplements are free from common allergens, gluten, and GMOs, making them suitable for individuals with sensitivities or dietary restrictions. This is particularly beneficial for me as I have a sensitivity to legumes and gluten. Most powdered supplements use pea protein, which is a no-go for me. Thorne’s Daily Greens Plus, for instance, is a superior greens supplement that stands out from the rest.

I wish I had known about proper folate supplementation when I was pregnant. The principal form of folate is 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). I used Olly Prenatal gummies because it was easier to get down when I was nauseous during my entire first trimester. Olly uses folic acid, a cheaper form of 5-MTHF. This is important for me because I have a genetic variant, the MTHFR gene, that does not allow my body to properly convert folic acid to 5-MTHF. Approximately 40-60% of people have this genetic variation that impairs their ability to convert folic acid to 5-MTHF properly. If you do not know whether you have this gene or not, I would be on the safe side and make sure my supplementation uses 5-MTHF as opposed to folic acid. Many food companies in America add folic acid to flour, labeling it “enriched.” Anything enriched has folic acid added back into it. Thorne is not just a brand; it's a partner in your journey to motherhood. Their high-quality supplements are designed to support your health and well-being during this transformative time. With their commitment to quality, purity, safety, and personalized support for women’s health, Thorne is a trusted companion from pregnancy through early motherhood and beyond.

Additionally, Mark Bell’s Steak Shake is a highly recommended option for those seeking a grass-fed protein supplement. Made from grass-fed beef organs, this supplement played a vital role during pregnancy when I struggled with anemia. I found traditional iron supplements to wreak havoc on my stomach. The organ meat protein filled my body's need for iron, helped me meet my nutritional needs, and supported my well-being during this time, cementing it as one of my top natural prenatal supplements.

When it comes to prioritizing quality supplementation, Thorne supplements and Mark Bell’s Steak Shake have been our family's go-to choices. These trusted brands provide reliable solutions, backed by science and dedicated to quality, for anyone seeking to optimize their health and well-being.
