In the tapestry of life, some of our most profound lessons are learned through personal experiences. On a sunny spring afternoon, Eva, Eden and I began our walk around East Grand Rapids. As fatigue set in for Eva, she expressed a desire to ride in the stroller. With a loving heart, I replied, “Sorry honey, God gave us two legs to walk.” Eva voiced a question that stirred my heart, “Why do you bring everything back to God?”
Eva’s discomfort during the walk was an experience I wanted to respond with in a way that went deeper than physical mobility; I wanted to expand her knowledge in faith and reliance on God. Eva desired for comfort and in today’s world, we see an inclination to seek comfort and shortcuts in life. God beckons us to trust his guidance and walk in His ways, even when the path seems daunting or uncertain.
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it is easy to feel disconnected from something greater than ourselves. Yet, amidst the chaos, there is a constant presence - the unwavering love of God. Walking with God isn’t just a spiritual journey; it’s an embrace of His boundless mercy. My goal is to guide my children to have a deep, personal relationship with Him, where every decision and action is guided by faith. God walks with us through life’s triumphs and tribulations, offering comfort, wisdom, and strength along the way. It might not be the comfort we desire, but we must trust in Him for he is always with us.
Despite our flaws and shortcomings, God’s love for us is unconditional - it’s infinite, unchanging and freely given. I want my children to see God’s unwavering love when they look at me. I pray that myself and my family walk in His ways.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” John 3:16
In Love,
Morgan
